Kaabil Will Release In Pakistan A Week Before Raees
Rakesh Roshan is a happy man. Kaabil featuring Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam has become the first Hindi film to get a solo release post the ban on the screening of Indian films in Pakistan was lifted. Buzz is, Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees too will hit theatres in Pakistan, albeit a week later.

Confirming the news, Rakesh Roshan told a leading daily, "I got a call from one of my distributors in Pakistan, Satish Anand, who is currently in India, saying that they all liked Kaabil so much there that they got ONLY Kaabil cleared at the censors."

He added, "It will be a solo release in Pakistan from tomorrow or day after. They wanted the message of Kaabil given by Hrithik and Yami to spread and reach everyone in Pakistan. It's a very nice step and a historic one towards increasing the friendship between the two countries. I hope it grows bigger every day!"

Soon after the news spread, we got in touch with Satish who revealed that his company received the NOC on Friday and the compliance paper work for Kaabil is all in place.

When quizzed about Raees’s one-week delay, he simply said, “As far as I know Raees’s dates haven’t been announced.”

Satish also went on to admit that the ban has BADLY affected films’ business in Pakistan. He opined, “Hindi movies are like icing on the cake in the scheme of things. Dent to pada tha as far as traffic from Hindi movies is concerned. But now, when Kaabil has become the first movie to release in Pakistan, we are happy. We welcome all films with no discrimination.”

Talking about the fate of other films like Jolly LLB 2, RunningShaadi.com which will release soon, Satish Anand said, “Other films will follow in place. Some of the previous films will also be adjusted, but not all.”
